Turning Points® is a four page letter that responds to the
question, 'How's the economic climate for business?' It includes a four page
supplement, Micrometrics, on information about current economic conditions in
each of the Federal Reserve
Districts. Periodically, Micrometrics contains information
specific to the micro-sectors of the economy--industries, companies, divisions,
and product lines. The subscription price was set permanently in 1977 at $96.
per annum plus the GDP Implicit Price Deflator! The current updated annual
subscription price is capped at $200.
Editor and Publisher
John Crosby is a former Fortune 500 senior executive, an entrepreneur,
author, and consultant. As a Fortune 500 executive, he was the divisional head
of a high-tech multinational manufacturing company and was responsible for 6000
people and several hundred millions of dollars in annual revenue. Having held
positions at all levels of the corporate organization, both domestically and
internationally, Crosby also founded or co-founded five companies over a period
of 25 years and currently serves closely-held business boards-of-directors in an
advisory capacity.
Crosby holds Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts, and Ph.D. degrees in
Experimental Psychology with an emphasis in Human Cognition and specializes in
business, industrial, and corporate matters. He has written several articles
that have been published in refereed professional journals and has authored two
recently published books: Managing the Big Sale, A Relational Approach to
Marketing Strategies, Tactics, and Selling, and; Cycles, Trends, and
Turning Points, Practical Forecasting techniques for Marketing and
Sales. He is interested in the application of psychological principles
to economics, marketing, corporate governance, strategic planning, human
judgment, and complex decision making.
He is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Society for the
Advancement of Behavioral Economics, International Association for Research in
Economic Psychology, International Association of Applied Psychologists
(Economic Psychology), the American Marketing Association, the National
Association of Business Economics, and the Society of Psychologists in
Management.
