Housing data in terms of price, quantity and vacancy rates provide the latest insight into what is the single greatest risk to our continued economic recovery. The lingering housing problems including those homeowners who are under water are negatively impacting higher employment as people cannot sell their homes and move to where the jobs are like they could in prior recoveries. Look for Q2 growth in real GDP to be close to 3 percent plus or minus. This growth rate is pretty much right on the long term average following the end of World War II.
